Strap yourselves in because this is going to be a long one!
We're back in Twinbrook at the end of Ellothiel's kidnapping arc.
I was highly amused at how Wesley, Silas, and Laril interacted when all placed in the room next to Ellothiel's. Wesley and Silas were friends. Silas and Laril ignored each other. Wesley and Laril's relationship started off very rocky. They were constantly fighting and arguing. With them both having strong romantic relationships with Ellothiel, I can only imagine that that fact is why they initially took a dislike to the other. Laril would be jealous because Wesley is the first person Ellothiel truly loved, and Wesley would be jealous because Laril is the one who got to have her for eternity.
Silas would sit on the floor and brood when the two started their arguments.
Wesley and Laril did eventually start to get along though.
It's all about camera placement.
This is the exact moment I used to capture the picture of Silas scowling when he burst into the room after Laril fought with him. However, ten feet away you have Ellothiel smiling like an absolute goof.
Here's another example. It was a good thing I only needed a shot of their feet, otherwise this picture would have turned out pretty silly.
I once again forgot to take a shot of Ellothiel with Eloril's hair, but here she is with Laril's elven hairstyle.
I used the in-game move option to move the family from Twinbrook to Riverview. I was surprised and a bit happy that they drove to the lot where I made Ellothiel's kidnapped room to "leave" the town. This is what the placed looked like from the outside angle. You have the little room where I kept Wesley, Silas, and Laril in the front, you can spot the Pose Player on the left, and Ellothiel's room is behind both.
Here's a closer glance.
We'll zoom back in to take a look for old time's sake. Unfortunately, this was after my computer had to get wiped. I lost some of the custom content I used on the lot, which is why the door is missing.
To the right of Ellothiel's room is where I built the "forest" that Laril carried her through. That was another shot where I was glad it had to be taken extremely up close. I was only just able to hide all the terrible clipping that was going on due to me having to use two poses that weren't supposed to go together at all.
Despite not being a ghost yet, Cirabel decided to dabble with her soon to come supernatural abilities.
Elrunamir and Cirabel were disgusted at the sight of another ghost even though they were both ghosts themselves.
The moment right before Abrien was conceived!
I really didn't see why the children had to take a bus to school when they lived right across the street. I eventually got into the habit of manually sending them there a bit earlier than required to prevent this.
Urelia was having some problems eating her ice cream.
Later on, Elrundir had some problems with the counter.
I had no idea this was possible!
Ellothiel actually ended up in a similar version of Urelia's pregnancy dress, but I changed it since I have plans for that particular dress.
The baby is coming! I left this birth entirely up to chance, so Elrundir and Urelia could have had a boy instead. I would have then created an elvish name for him that meant "Blessed Surprise" or something of the sort, haha.
They obviously ended up with cute Abrien instead.
Angry Elrundir! I just love the shots of emotions not normally seen by the generally happy or calm-headed Sims I play.
I sent Ellothiel over to visit Aewen and Alcarien. Delindir decided to visit as well. However, he didn't try to come inside at all. He instead set up his keyboard on the front lawn and played in the snow for hours before complaining about having to use the restroom.
Aewen was not being very cooperative with Urelia. Urelia was trying to go get Abrien so she could put her in her crib so she could go to sleep. Unfortunately, Aewen got to her a few seconds faster. She then proceeded to hog her. She wouldn't let go no matter what action I had Urelia start with her, and Aewen herself couldn't be bothered to put her infant niece in her crib despite the fact that Abrien began screaming her head off from exhaustion.
The school got super crowded again. I had to send the children there almost an hour early in order to make sure that they were actually able to get into the building. I was too lazy to delete the school and place another two into the town to fix the problem like I had to do back in Twinbrook.
A different shot of Eloril hugging Erien. I didn't use it because I found Eloril's smile a little creepy.
Believe it or not (although you'll probably believe it), both Eloril and Erien are inspired from my Lord of the Rings fanfictions like so many others are. Besides Elrond, his youngest biological son Elrohir is one of my all-time favorite characters. Eloril is essentially my version of him. His relationship with Ellothiel is taken from Remember Me, and his relationship with Erien is taken from another fanfiction that he appears in. Erien, who is the main character in this other fanfiction, is the daughter of Thranduil of Mirkwood. She spends a good portion of her life on the run because of a massive misunderstanding which made her believe she was no longer wanted by her family. Elladan, Elrohir's older twin brother, and Elrohir eventually stumble upon her and help her to fix those misunderstandings. Erien and Elrohir then go on to fall in love and get married. Thus, it only made sense to marry my "Elrohir" to the person he marries in that story.
I went into CAS so I could see what Abrien looked like when she grew up. I then did to her what I did to Ellothiel by trying out her family's hairstyles on her. Naturally, this is Elrundir's style.
I got lazy and didn't do many though. This is Abrien with Ellothiel's hair. The two are pretty much identical save for their hair color and the shape of their mouths.
A clear shot of Abrien with her normal style.
I opened the game one time to find this. Ellothiel has gotten so good at parenting that she doesn't even have to physically carry her children anymore in order to lift them.
Very unfortunately, because I used the in-game move option to bring the family from Twinbrook to Riverview it meant that the save file was already incredibly large right from the start. It eventually grew way too big. Even with my laptop's 4gb of RAM, playing that save (and adding in all the CC I have installed) was using up all of my Alienware's memory. I started getting Error 12s like crazy. I could barely play for five minutes. I knew it was a relatively hopeless hope, but I attempted to move the family with the in-game feature to another town so I could then move them back to Riverview in order to give the save a bit of a refresh while being able to keep all the pictures of Wesley, Ellothiel's other children, and all the paintings I had been saving for a long time. As you would suspect, the plan failed. Some of the hairstyles became warped like what you see happening to Urelia. Other hairstyles would look fine on the Sims, but when I tried to return to their original style it would still look deformed. I went on to experiment with a few other options that might save the pictures. None worked. I had to suck it up, go back to the default way of moving by saving the households to the Library, and deal with the pictures turning blank because of it. That is the reason why I had the big fire happen as it was pretty much the only way to explain the loss of the pictures in a way that made sense story-wise.
The only thing I managed to get out of the whole mess was me trying out Rynania's hairstyle on Urelia.
I discovered late one game night that the shower had broken again. Poor Ellothiel had to be woken up so she could fix it.
The floor was already flooded.
I just liked this shot a lot for some reason.
This one too, haha. It's like she knows that I'm watching her.
I couldn't help but to see how Isebrilia looked with Eleme's hairstyle on her.
Eloril's hair wasn't coded for his Naked outfit, so this is what he looks like when taking a bath.
Again, there's not much point to this shot. I simply liked the outfit and wanted to have a picture of Ellothiel wearing it XD
Teen Isebrilia with Eleme's hair.
For anyone who read the chapters of Remember Me (the fanfiction Ellothiel is inspired from) that I've posted, you might have caught the connection of the name Isebrilia. In the fanfiction, she is a maiden that lives in Imladris who becomes Ellothiel's babysitter and motherly figure. This is her first appearance in the story, although she did not have her name when I originally wrote this part:
Elladan and
Estel had become very worried about Elrohir. Given that he was usually the
calmest and most composed of the three of them, his sudden and unexplained
anger was most peculiar. The two of them had tried to talk to him to discover
the root of the issue, but they rapidly learned it was better for their safety
to give him a wide berth that day. Just like they were avoiding him, Elrohir
had done everything he could to avoid the girl. He had completely skipped
breakfast, and when she tried calling for him afterwards he was nowhere to be
found. She pouted most of the day because of this. It didn’t help that she
wasn’t allowed to go speak to Elrond either. The maiden watching over her that
day, Isebrilia, had told her the lord had shut himself up in his study. When
the door was closed, no one was to enter.
The girl popped
the bubbles of her evening bath dismally as Isebrilia scrubbed at her hair.
Normally she enjoyed playing in the water, but her heart wasn’t in it at that
moment. Her blue mood wasn’t lost on her companion.
“You haven’t
been very cheerful today.” Isebrilia noted as she ran a cup of water over her
sudsy hair.
“Do you know
where ‘Ro’s at?”
“Um, no,”
Isebrilia stumbled due to the random question, “I have not seen him at all, come
to think of it.”
“He said he
would get me a name.”
“Did he now? I think that’s a wonderful idea.
I would love to call you by something proper.” Isebrilia smiled.
“But he said he
would get it for me this morning, and now he’s nowhere.” the girl revealed
sadly.
“I see. That’s
why you’ve been so down?”
She nodded.
“I’m sure he has
a beautiful name for you,” Isebrilia encouraged, “Lord Elrohir and his brothers
sometimes have to be very busy, so he probably did not mean to keep out of
contact.”
The girl only
nodded again. Isebrilia poured another cup of water over her hair, and was
silent for a minute before picking up the conversation.
“Hey, I have an
idea. Whatever work has kept him busy should be finished by now. If we get you
ready for bed quickly tonight, I’ll do what I can to go find him and see what
name he has for you.” she offered.
Isebrilia
instantly wished she had waited a bit longer before making the proposal. The
girl quickly leaped out of the tub, haphazardly wrapped the large towel on the
floor around her, and dashed to the door only to turn back to see what was
taking her so long. Isebrilia laughed.
“Now hold on just a moment, we haven’t even
fully washed the soap out of your hair yet.” Isebrilia pointed out.
The girl stared
at her for a second and then turned the door handle to leave the bathing room.
What did she care if she had soap in her hair?
Ellothiel in Urelia's dress.
Rand idle I found amusing.
Besides being able to hold her children by attaching them to her elbow, Ellothiel can also move objects by sticking her arm in painful positions.
Isebrilia liked to practice her Charisma by standing half into the tub.
Elrundir's so fab that he sits with his legs crossed.
The thief is upset that he is caught. The policeman is annoyed that he has to deal with this nonsense at such an hour. Urelia is more excited at the whole situation than she should be.
This maid really was so terrible. He was so slow at doing everything. Urelia cleaned up most of the table because it was almost time for dinner, and then the guy complained that she took the dishes.
Urelia's attempt at a duck face?
Mully, a.k.a. Mulberry, was one of those Sims I loved inviting over. He was attached to Minia like crazy. He would play with her and teach her her skills without any prompting being necessary. This allowed me to focus on other things that had to be done.
Ranna passed away at the festival. Cugu was there to witness her passing.
It was crazy getting all the children from each town together in one household. This is the Appaloosa Plains gang.
Elrundir with Eloril's hair, just in case you were ever curious what Eloril would look like with green eyes.
Ellothiel's last conception for the challenge! I did indeed let the game decide whether I would end up with an even 50-50 or if there would be one more girl in the total.
With all of her children passing away, Ellothiel was constantly grieving. It made it nearly impossible to get anything done because she was crying so much. I suppose this made my playing more realistic though.
The book Ellothiel is reading is the last one she wrote, and it's the only masterpiece she wrote. The title? The Goddess' Order, of course ^^
This guy popped up while I was taking pictures in the graveyard. He began flirting with Elradith. Not helpful, ghost guy. Not helpful.
This what it looked like when I was taking pictures for the tribute. It was so much easier to set up five or six of the children at a time instead of doing them one by one. It also helped me in spreading the children out throughout the houses and not putting them in the same location over and over again.
I really do hate that sometimes the leaves don't disappear after autumn is over. I didn't want the leaves to be in the outside pictures I was taking, so I turned the children into a raking army that cleared up the yard in no time.
Celendel clearly inherited Ellothiel's ability to use things without touching them. In order to park in one of the parking spots at the festival, he drove his invisible car across the street while also holding his umbrella.
Cugu decided to mess up his brother's wedding pictures by playing soccer in the background.
I left Ellothiel alone for five seconds, and she went to play in the sprinkler in the middle of the night while it was raining.
Sulfaer really likes Ellothiel.
Speaking of Sulfaer, I have mentioned before that "Sulfaer" is the name of fanfiction Ellothiel's first horse:
It seemed
only minutes later Elrohir and Ellothiel finished their work. The timing was
perfect due to one of the workers from the house coming to find Elladan and
Elrohir to relay a message from Elrond. The twins met him near the entrance of
the stable. Talron took the opportunity to excuse himself to go back to the
storage room. Ellothiel waited outside of Cara’s stall and petted her snout
when Cara peered over the door to sniff her. A couple minutes passed. Ellothiel
started to fidget impatiently. Her brothers and the worker were still talking,
and Talron had not reappeared.
She knew what
to do. Did she have to wait for them to continue? It would help move things
along. Ellothiel thought she had come up with a great idea. She walked to the
next stall down. From her low position, she could only just see the ears of the
horse. Standing on her toes to undo the latch, Ellothiel slowly opened the door
and took a step inside. However, she had to stop and stare at the creature in
front of her.
Even though
Ellothiel knew nothing about horses, she could tell the one in front of her was
a level above the rest. The horse was incredibly tall despite his young age.
His powerful muscles rippled smoothly under his coat as he moved. Ellothiel
thought her eyes were playing a trick on her. His coat seemed to be brown, yet,
as he moved and the light shone on him, the brown appeared to change into a brilliant
dark red color. The trait happened to be true of his eyes as well.
The horse
noticed the visitor to his stall and stared silently at her for a second. Then
Ellothiel was scared horribly as the horse whinnied loudly before taking a fast
step forward. He brought his head only inches away from her and snorted
menacingly. Ellothiel dropped her brush in fright and then became frozen solid
as the horse’s eyes glared intensely into hers. Her voice lost, Ellothiel
couldn’t call for help from one of the others.
However, the
horse’s demeanor suddenly changed.
As quickly as
he had become aggressive, he became docile. The mean glare disappeared, and he
gently nuzzled against Ellothiel’s head. Ever so hesitantly, she reached up and
petted him. He nuzzled her a little more before straightening back up. Ellothiel
never took her eyes off him as she slowly bent down to pick her brush up. She
wasn’t quite sure what had happened, but figured the horse had given her his
approval. With that being the case, she decided to go ahead and try to groom him.
However, the horse was too tall and she too small. Even if she jumped, the
brush would barely graze his underbelly. Ellothiel frowned. The horse then
suddenly laid himself down, and Ellothiel saw that he was helping her.
“Thanks.” she
said with a smile.
The horse
nickered.
Ellothiel
went to work brushing him. She couldn’t help but to keep thinking how pretty
his coat was. Too deep in thought about the creature in front of her that now
munched lazily on his hay, Ellothiel almost didn’t hear her brothers’ calls for
her.
“Ellothiel?”
“Where did
you go?”
“I’m here.”
she answered.
“Where?”
Elladan’s voice called again.
“Here.”
Ellothiel said louder.
“She’s in
Sûlfaer’s stall.” Talron’s voice chimed in, and Ellothiel instantly noticed
that he was panicked.
There was the
sound of hurried footsteps and within seconds her brothers and Talron were in
front of the stall.
“‘Lo, come
here. Quickly.” Elladan instructed her.
“Why?”
Ellothiel asked curiously.
She didn’t understand why they were so nervous.
“Sûlfaer is
rather violent.”
“No, he
isn’t.” Ellothiel countered.
“Ellothiel.”
Elrohir said very seriously.
He held out
his hand to her and took the smallest of steps inside. It was the wrong move to
make.
Sûlfaer stood
up so quickly that Ellothiel was pushed into the wall. He whinnied loudly and
then reared before stomping his hooves furiously. He took a fierce step towards
Elrohir, but Elrohir wasn’t so easily scared. He moved further into the stall
in order to get his sister out. Sûlfaer's actions became more intense. Talron
grabbed onto Elrohir’s clothes and pulled him back. Elrohir protested, but once
he was out of the stall Sûlfaer quieted down surprisingly fast.
“Now, hold on
just a moment.” Talron started, “I don’t think we need to fear. My lady doesn’t
appear to be in any danger from Sûlfaer.”
“What are you
talking about?!” Elrohir asked, looking at Talron like he was crazy.
Talron
motioned towards the horse.
“Look at how
he’s standing in front of her. It’s as if he’s trying to protect her from you.”
“He’s protecting her?”
It was true
though. The twins looked at the stance Sûlfaer had taken. He was standing
defensively in front of Ellothiel, and, even during all his stamping, he had
never come close to hurting her. Ellothiel looked up at him. Somehow she had
not been very scared, only a bit shocked.
When I was building Ellothiel's house in the elven lands, I completely forgot that Abrien would need a room. Thus, I accidentally didn't give her one. She shared with Ellothiel on the rare occasions that I didn't simply Make Needs Static in order to take pictures.
Eloril's bed certainly looked awesome, but it definitely didn't function like it was meant to. This was true with much of the elven decor items I downloaded and used. They would glitch into each other or the Sims would move in weird ways when using the items.
Ellothiel, no cell phones allowed in the elven lands!
Something weird happened to her face when she was talking to Pemir out in the woods. Her forehead jutted out like it never had before.
That expression, haha.
This one as well! Laril is such a dork.
And, as you might suspect, Laril is also another character from Ellothiel's fanfiction. As you might suspect again, his character marries Ellothiel. They meet as children when a problem in Mirkwood, which Estel and Ellothiel are visiting, forces Estel to sneak his sister to Esgaroth in order to keep her safe. Laril lives there with his parents and triplet sister- their other sister being deceased. That Laril has caramel colored hair and light brown eyes. However, both characters share the trait of being incredibly nimble. The fanfiction character is much more so, seeing as how I imagine him to be quite the parkour master. Their overall personalities are identical.
These two are a bit too happy about being stuck like that.
Woohoo on Eloril's bed...
Doesn't look quite right...
The first kiss! D'awww <3 p="">
Unfortunately, I forgot to add the grandparents to the family tree before Tirilonn and Galuiel were born. I did remember to place them in the game before Ellothiel and Laril had their children though. Here is Urelia with Andethil and Rynania.
Here is Elrundir with his parents- Orsidhil and Abriel.
The townies were so annoying. They would randomly appear to make getting my shots difficult. I went into CAS to turn most of them into elves so the world could appear fuller, but at various points I just couldn't be bothered. Then there was that stupid Weather Stone to deal with. It appeared on the lots I didn't need it to appear on. Above is a classic example of what I had to deal with- a random fireman watching an invisible singer performing for tips next to the Weather Stone on the lot right in front of the entrance arch to the main house, which was right where I needed to take my pictures.
Rynan with Ellothiel's hair.
If you're wondering about her eyes, I've decided to put default replacement contacts into my game. I waited until the end of the epilogue to add them so the appearances of the Sims would remain constant until the story was over, but from now on you'll see these contacts on every Sim from here on out.
Young Adult Ranimir, Calithon, and Rynan.
In Remember Me, Ellothiel does have two boys with Laril named Ranimir and Calithon. Ellothiel also has a daughter with Laril, but her character is different from Rynan. That other character is named Arianwen. Despite the name sounding elvish, it is actually a real world name of Welsh origin. It turned out to be perfect for the character because, it not only fits with the elven world Ellothiel lives in, but because Arianwen is born as an albino and the name means "white" or "holy silver." I chose to change Arianwen into Rynan because I already covered the albinism angle with Ellothiel's quadruplets. Also, the Ellothiel and Laril in this story are elves that aren't supposed to carry genetic defects. That Ellothiel supposedly has the albinism defect seeing as how she was able to have albino children was already pushing things. For Laril to have the same defect would be too much.
However, I was glad I had an excuse to change the character around a bit. This was because I had to use "Rynan" in order to honor the main characters in Remember Me completely. You see, Rynan is Ellothiel. It is her birth name. I would love to tell you more about her true story, but these Behind the Scenes have already revealed much more than I would normally reveal about one of my stories. I will say though that the name means "little stream." I contemplated giving one of Ellothiel's mortal children the name, but it only seemed right to give such an important moniker to her lone elven daughter with Laril instead.
Aaaaand, that's it! I've, unfortunately, run out of pictures. Never fear though! This definitely won't be the last you'll see of these characters. With so many Sims to chose from, I could write stories about them for the rest of my life. I'm already planning short stories about Ellothiel's children pre-epilogue. You can even help choose who the first short story/short series will be about by filling out this end of the story survey here. Until then, I'll see you! Thanks so much for reading, and keep an eye out for my rainbowcy coming out in a few weeks!
Kelsey out!
