Meeting the Parents

The morning after Ninnor's birth did not start off well. Things seemed fine at first. Eiji, whom I've instructed quite a bit in cooking since we've met, prepared a filling breakfast for us all. Then we went our separate ways to properly get our day going. I just finished cleaning the dishes when I heard commotion coming from the sun room. I rushed over to see Pararil standing there looking absolutely distraught. He had gone to feed Rica, only to find that she had died some time during the night. Though he didn't shed a tear, Pararil was naturally depressed throughout the rest of the day. It was hard for all of us to watch him bury the poor bird in the backyard.

Fire

Although Eiji and I saw a lot of each other while I was pregnant, Eiji has spent almost all of his free time at the house now that Londuil has been born. It's rare when a day will pass and we've seen nothing of him. He ends up staying the night half the time. Nioniel, Pararil, Galaran, and Herindur have gotten quite accustomed to his presence, and I enjoy his help and friendship as well. Having Eiji around makes the days pass fast. Londuil has already become a toddler.

Unease

Since Mr. Hugh stayed the night over, he naturally got to sample some more of my fine cooking for breakfast. He really hadn't seen any of my children that previous night, so I gave him a warning that there was a decent amount of them running around. Mr. Hugh was fine until we got downstairs, but he became a bit more uncomfortable when he became the victim of curious stares from eight eyes. While he did his best to make conversation with Elridia, Nioniel, Pararil, and Galaran, breakfast overall was just a bit awkward. It didn't help that Elridia and Nioniel kept giving me that knowing stare as if they knew without a doubt that I had slept with Mr. Hugh. I wanted to set them straight, but of course bringing up such a topic would have only made the atmosphere even more uncomfortable.

Can I Be This Girl?

I don't really have much to say here, but I came across this video a while ago:

What I wouldn't give to be Ayano Fuchiguchi (or it might be Fuchikuchi, Google translated it both ways), or to have her talent. She's only ten, and she's got a voice like this! Seriously, she's amazing. I hope you enjoy her performance as much as I do :)

Spontaneous

After all the time I spent riding with Talron, I thought galloping through the forest was the most beautiful sight possible. On spring morning rides, the moisture in the air would be sweet and delicate buds would wave gently in the wind as we passed by. In summer, the bright sunlight would cascade visions of bright emerald green and shining gold through the thick canopy. Then in the fall, the spicy scent of dropping pine needles and the plethora of autumn colors engulfing us as we rode past was breathtaking. And yet, my rides here with Nari are giving those wonderful memories of mine quite the challenge. The two of us love going on morning rides on the road following the cliff that overhangs the ocean. The breeze off the sea and the rainbow of colors from the rising morning is stunning to behold.

Happy Birthday Nana!

We had a big celebration as both Elridia and Pararil celebrated their birthdays recently. A couple days later when it was just the two of us, Anithien made a comment about how out of place she feels. Now that Iselith is no longer around, she's the only one in the house without fair hair. I told her I hadn't noticed that this was an issue for her. Anithien continued to conversation by admitting that she was occasionally asked if she was adopted. I asked her if it was upsetting to her, or if she actually feared it to be the case.
