Daughter

It was prom time for the teenagers. Elrelas, Henduil, Silmalad, and Alyan all pooled their spare money together in order to rent a limousine to pick up their dates and take them to the prom. What they got wasn't quite what the expected though. The limousine that picked them up had its heating brake earlier in the day. Since all the other limousines were booked for that day, the company only had the broken one left. The boys had to wear jackets and warmer clothes over their suits as they reluctantly got into the vehicle. The company refunded them a large percentage of their money, but naturally, they still weren't happy with the situation. Things eventually picked up for them at the dance though. Elrelas even won prom king.

Caught Up

As just happens some days, both Serith and Tirith's changing hormones were running rampant on the same day. It made for a rather unpleasant atmosphere between the two of them. I heard from Renduil and Rion when the four of them got home from school that my girls had been bickering with each other all day during class. I should have known it was coming, but that tension grew into one huge argument. Tirith started it off by making the wonderful decision to steal Serith's homework and copy it instead of doing the work herself.

Burnt Letters

The calm pace the house had before Serith and Tirith's birth is pretty much gone. I'm running all over the place trying to keep things in order. A bit unfortunately, now a lot of the quality time I spend with Elwen, Meldiron, and Lomaraniel happens mostly at meal times. The only thing that stops me from feeling too horrible about it is that they're also very busy with their own school activities. It's not entirely my fault that we can't all be in the same place at the same time.

Meldiron and Mara love to tell me what they learn and do in school. Mara is already at the top of her class though she's just started school. She's definitely going to be a force to reckon with. Her teachers, and even the principal, have suggested to me that I spend her to a specialized, higher-style school. While they tell me this with Mara's best interest in heart, I know the best thing is for her to stay at home with the rest of us. Mara hates the idea of going to some place like a boarding school anyway.

Lar Smith

There are so many things to love about this town- the peaceful atmosphere, the beautiful landscape, the gorgeous night sky, and so many that I can't mention them all. However, one of my most absolute favorite features has to be the community garden. I'm able to get all the fresh fruits and vegetables that I love to cook with, and it's not quite as much work as having a garden in our own yard. Right now almost everything is in full bloom, and with the end of summer approaching there's only more goodies to anticipate.

Speaking of the end of summer approaching, I thought it would be a good idea to do something special.

Making Friends

I never thought such would ever turn out to be the case, but I am beginning to fear being inside our house. I just get the sensation that something bad is going to happen. It is all because of Riviel and Celadra's pranks.

Everything started when Celadra thought it would be hilarious to put neon purple hair dye in Riviel's shower. It washed out quickly enough, but Riviel vowed to get back at her sister. Now they're constantly going back and forth with each other. One day it will be a whoopee cushion, and the next a spraying sink. They aren't actually angry. They're doing it all in good fun, and have promised to keep the hi-jinks to only each other. However, I know it is only a matter of time before Idhren and I are accidentally caught in the crossfire.

Reputation

A couple days after his birthday, Thrin managed to get everything in order for his move. I know he'll only be a couple hours away, but it'll always be hard to let my children leave at all. It's harder still when he and Riviel have a bit more to go to repair their relationship. At least the two of them are near happy again. It feels nice to see them smile honestly again.

There's something else that's also nice. Having the household be only girls once more. True, there's Idhren, but I don't really feel as if I can count him since he's not out of diapers and can barely speak. Riviel and Celadra have become very close now that's it's just the two of them.

Healing

It can go without saying, but I'll say it anyway. Riviel and Linn were absolutely horrified to see me when I walked in. You would think they would have had the sense to lock the door if they didn't want anyone walking in on them. I'm glad they didn't though. What was going on between them was something I needed to know about.

I only reflected on that point after the situation had cooled down somewhat. In the moment I discovered Riviel and Linn, my anger made me snap just a bit. I gave Linn what she deserved for betraying my son and sneaking around with my daughter. I pretty much shoved her out of the house. I went back to find Rivi. She was either just so terrified by the situation or frightened that I was going to hit her too for she had locked herself in her bathroom. I could hear her crying.
