I've been wanting to do something like this for a long time. If you've ever noticed in CMW that certain names are repeated or are similar, that isn't a mistake. Since I began this story, I always envisioned there naturally being names that parents in the CMW universe picked more commonly over other names. I thought it would be fun to put together a list of what I believe those names would be. I'm sure you'll spot some familiar ones. So, here you are!

Some of these are really cool. Are some of them unisex names that are just in the top 5 for one gender? Just some things like "Fern" and "Saffron" sound like cool girls names, even though they are on the boy side.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of names that can definitely go both ways, but for some reason in the culture in this world some just happened to be more common for one gender than for the other. It typically works out that the majority won't think it strange if a more common boy names ends up on a girl or vice versa. Then there are the few examples here of unisex options as well- Jade being common for both as a green name, Cirrus being equal in both lists for gray.
