Ryleen's departure was felt by Allura more than expected. Bailey cried loud and cried often, but after getting into a certain schedule Allura was able to stay on top of her needs without losing too much sleep.
She also got frequent advice. Ryleen constantly called, and then Allura even got advice from her great-grandmother. Lynette wanted to chat, and she also wanted to invite her over for a party.
Unfortunately, the break from parenting wasn't quite what Allura wanted. The house Lynette and Homer had was small, although it was big enough for the two of them. The problem was that they tried to throw a pool party when there was no pool. No one else showed up, and Allura found the house far too badly decorated and designed for her liking. She sent some money their way so it could be changed into something more livable.
The next day, thankfully, turned out better. Out and about on the town, Allura met up with Hugh Grey, one of the men she first ran into at the gym. He must have been there again as his body odor was rather unpleasant, but Allura managed to ignore most of the smell. The two talked, they grew closed, Hugh was cool with being turned into a wizard, and Allura invited him back to the house.
Fun times were had in the shower as Allura had to do something to relieve her nose, and afterwards Hugh eventually had to take off. The rest of the day proceeded as normal. The next day there was a bit more rushing around as it was Bailey's birthday.
She's absolutely adorable.
Now that the plants are no longer in pots on the fourth floor of the house, they are in danger of being eaten by zombies. Allura forgot about that risk, and so it wasn't until the first full moon popped up that she hurriedly got a fence up to protect her two precious plants.
Baby number two is on its way!
To have some fun, Allura decided to throw a proper party. She invited family, the men she met at the gym, a few other friends she'd made, and left it at that since she knew there would be others who would decide to crash. That instinct was on the mark, but she introduced herself instead of kicking them out.
Most people danced or chatted. Allura, however, occupied herself differently during the party. She basically became a matchmaker for her brothers as Tallis and Blaine were getting nowhere in that department.
Things didn't go quite as well as she hoped though, although Allura did admit she might have prompted things a bit too quickly.
Thankfully, the two conversed smoothly afterwards and formed a better genuine bond during the afternoon.
The relationship could take a while though. Her brothers could be odd. For example, Tallis thought the best place to tell a ghost story was in the bathroom. At least it was only Allura ever using the room, so it was pretty clean.
The long tables finally came in handy.
The following day, Allura met another man while on a trip to the alchemy store. She now had a long list of fathers to choose from thanks to the new location, but she kept Fintan in mind for the future. All the colors in Dragon Valley were quite attractive.
Yay, here we go! Although, Allura wasn't sharing in that joy in that moment.
Speaking of colors, Allura's second baby girl was full of them. Her new daughter was named Jane, and she inherited her father's magical powers.
