PGC Round 2 Update #9

It was a beautiful fall morning, and things were going well so far as the residents of the Starr household started waking up. Capella and Brendon were getting into the mood despite the early hour. It looked like they were heading towards their normal morning woohoo when Brendon suddenly made a suggestion that didn't sit right with Capella. Brendon wanted to have another child. Capella thought he was just joking. When she realized he wasn't, the couple began to bicker. Capella had already given up her immortality and powers for him. He knew how much she hated children. How much more was he expecting from her?

Brendon didn't mean to get her so angry. Capella's dislike of children made her take off a bit more strongly than she should have. Brendon explained he had simply wanted to see if she would be willing to give him the chance to have a child who had his own unique coloring.  He would be willing to do everything for the child. Capella wouldn't have to do any work, teaching, or playing unless she absolutely wanted to. Capella pointed out she still had to carry the child for months.

However, right when Brendon was about to drop the idea, Capella went ahead and agreed. She would give Brendon this one chance, and only this one chance, to see if the couple could produce a child with his unique hair color.

Capella has discovered that her favorite way of building her martial arts skill is by meditating. It doesn't get her sweaty or tired like actually practicing does. She also began to think that perhaps a bit of her vampiric powers remain. There was one night where she meditated for so long that she began to hover in the air with a green glow around her. She could even teleport to any location of her choosing. Capella spent a lot of time perfecting her meditation to reach this strange state faster, but her constant runs to the bathroom to throw up made progress a bit difficult.

With Sheratan finally maxing out his logic skill, he has begun tutoring Auriga since she's turned out to be a genius. Sheratan loves talking and teaching, and Auriga loves being able to pick up the skill so quickly. By the time dinner came around, she had managed to go up two levels.

It seems Capella doesn't mind spending time with Mesarthim and Auriga so much as long as her attention doesn't have to be focused on them 100 percent. For example, she is fine talking to them if she can also watch television at the same time. Mesarthim and Auriga don't mind this because they can finally talk to Capella while also having an excuse to watch as much television as they want.

Being essentially unrelated twins, Mesarthim and Auriga are best of friends and spend a lot of time together. That means they also spend a lot of time sharing germs. It was no surprise that as soon as Mesarthim became sick the illness spread to Auriga as well. The two spent the whole night coughing and sneezing. Sheratan took them to the hospital the next morning to get some free allergy shots courtesy of his high position at work.

Capella gave birth to another girl. To Brendon's disappointment and Capella's excitement, Sadatoni was born a Starr heir. She even took on Capella's light skin instead of Brendon's dark one.

Brendon got over his disappointment before too long. Sadatoni was still his cute little daughter, and he was all on his own taking care of her. Or so he originally thought. While he did do a lot to take care of her, Capella did help as well. She taught her to walk as well as do half of her potty training. She also got her ready most mornings.

Capella was using the rest of her time to finish off the last two levels of her martial arts skill. She felt very accomplished when she managed to smash through a space rock, and then only a couple hours later, held her final black belt in her hand. Now she was truly free to do whatever she wanted with her time.

After a while, Brendon really needed to get out of the house. He went to the nearby overlook to play his guitar. It was very foggy that day. It was so foggy, in fact, that he couldn't even see the city properly. All that was able to get through was the large spotlights by the stadium, and a bit of the outline of the buildings.

Sheratan came home one night to announce after a lot of hard work he had reached the top of his career. He is one of the best doctors to be found in the world. Mesarthim ran right over to give his daddy a great big congratulatory hug.

Mesarthim and Auriga had a shared birthday party, and each became one good looking teen. We're getting so close towards working for the next generation. The only thing I'm wondering about is if I should combine the two lines again. Because Mesarthim and Auriga are second cousins, they're not recognized as family in-game. Thus, they can do romantic interactions with each other. I don't plan on having them becoming romantic because it still feels weird, but one or two generations down the line and there will barely be any blood shared between the Etael and Starr heirs. Should I merge the lines once more, or keep them separate? Let me know what you think.

It's so strange how Mesarthim has worked out. He has a Green Thumb, but Hates the Outdoors. He wants to spend so much time getting a nice garden going, but can't stand being out of the house for more than half an hour. I'll have to buy him some pots to use inside or something.

Auriga loves playing with Sadatoni. She better get as much enjoyment out of having a baby sister as possible now, because her monumental birthday won't be that far away.

Auriga is getting along with Capella much better now though. Capella was eager to teach her daughter how to drive using their awesome car. The two were able to get some quality bonding time in.

Then there were more birthdays. Sadatoni's was first. I kept her around just as the spare heir in case something accidentally happen to Auriga. I actually want to use her too. Maybe I can do an Amesis and Tirin kind of situation with her grandchildren and Auriga's grandchildren if Sadatoni ends up producing heirs as well.

Sheratan also had his birthday.

The kids are quite productive about getting their homework done. Since Auriga is a genius, she always finishes first and helps Mesarthim and Sadatoni out with theirs.

One of Mesarthim and Auriga's classmates, Lee Redkey, came home with them from school. He and Auriga had a good time chatting it up. Auriga gathered up her courage and asked Lee to the prom. He responded with a very energetic yes.

Here is Pollux and Castor all grown up. Did you forget about them? I know I did. Even having their portrait panel icons right in the middle of everyone else's, I never even thought about them until I got the message about them graduating. Pollux wants to turn the town into vampires and Castor wants to become a famous reporter. They bought a house closer to the city and moved out.

Sadatoni wanted to learn how to fish, but there were no fishing spots close enough for me to be willing to send her to. Then I remembered children can fish in the pool, and she learned that way. Sure it looks silly, but it got the job done. Sadatoni and I were both happy.

Brendon has his birthday. Perhaps he felt down because he hadn't accomplished his lifetime wish yet or had the kind of child he really really wanted, and so he ended up having a midlife crisis.

His very first wish was to move to a different house. The others were a bit reluctant, but Brendon was so insistent that they came around. A new house had just been constructed a couple minutes down the road, and it seemed like it would be a good fit for the medium-sized family.

That is, until they got there and found out none of the lights would turn on no matter what they did. It quickly became very frustrating for everyone to try and get things done with no source of light to be had. Brendon and Capella started fighting again due to their frustration. Capella couldn't believed Brendon had moved them from the perfect place to such a dump. In addition to there being no light, there was much less space to move about in, and terrible plumbing and appliances. The two did not go to bed in a good mood.

Things blew up the next morning. Due to her poor mood, Capella was being considerably more horrible to Sadatoni than she normally was. Brendon walked in on his wife berating his daughter for absolutely nothing, and got fed up with Capella's behavior.

The two were back and forth at each others throats all morning. Both had major faults and mistakes to answer for, but neither would talk anything through rationally. The climax was reached when Brendon said he knew that a marriage brought about by manipulation and coercion could never work out. Capella had forced him to be with her, but now he wanted to take himself out. Brendon wanted a divorce.
