Perfect Genetics Challenge Round 2 Update #1

When I finished my original Perfect Genetics, I had big plans to continue on with the challenge. I wanted to do a PGC for each color of the rainbow with the last child of the then current challenge going on to be the partner for the founder of the next chapter. It was my aim to make things bigger than I had been doing up to that point. I thought it would be great to put more of a story in my work.

However, I wanted to do another side challenge that I would just post casual updates about to keep myself from getting bored while doing the same challenge over and over again. That was what my original intention for the 100 Baby Challenge was. A small, simple project. Clearly, that did not turn out to be the case. The deeper I got into the 100 BC, the more ambitious I became. The prologue was supposed to be just an introduction before the posts became less intricate. Then I realized I couldn't suddenly go from this story-heavy detailed style to bare details. More importantly, I found I liked what I was creating. I soon gave up on my plans to continue the PGC to devote my time to this new project.

Enough time has passed now though, and I want to pick my original idea up again. I won't be doing an intricate story like what my original desire. This continuation will be pretty much like how my previous PGC went- a bit of a linear plot, a little bit of storytelling, but for the most part a plain update of how things are progressing. Considering that my first post here for the original PGC still has a considerable higher amount of views than the prologue for my 100 BC and continues to get a lot of views, the demand apparently remains.

So without any further delay, let's get started!

Reputation

A couple days after his birthday, Thrin managed to get everything in order for his move. I know he'll only be a couple hours away, but it'll always be hard to let my children leave at all. It's harder still when he and Riviel have a bit more to go to repair their relationship. At least the two of them are near happy again. It feels nice to see them smile honestly again.

There's something else that's also nice. Having the household be only girls once more. True, there's Idhren, but I don't really feel as if I can count him since he's not out of diapers and can barely speak. Riviel and Celadra have become very close now that's it's just the two of them.

Name Change

As I'm sure you've noticed, the name of my blog has changed. There's no more "The Little Moments of My Life."

It was a fine title to use at the beginning because it properly described what I originally intended the contents of the blog to be- the little moments of my life that I felt like sharing. A quick peruse around the blog now shows that the title is no longer accurate, and hasn't been for quite some time. Since I really want the title to reflect the content I'm putting out, I decided a change was in order. That's why I came up with Random!Kelsey. Putting "Random" in the title allows me to post whatever the heck I want and still have it fit, and "Kelsey", well, that's me! The exclamation mark is there to add a bit of pizazz!

Overall, not that much is really changing. I'm still going to be putting out my normal content. Now the blog just more accurately reflects that content.

Happy reading!

Healing

It can go without saying, but I'll say it anyway. Riviel and Linn were absolutely horrified to see me when I walked in. You would think they would have had the sense to lock the door if they didn't want anyone walking in on them. I'm glad they didn't though. What was going on between them was something I needed to know about.

I only reflected on that point after the situation had cooled down somewhat. In the moment I discovered Riviel and Linn, my anger made me snap just a bit. I gave Linn what she deserved for betraying my son and sneaking around with my daughter. I pretty much shoved her out of the house. I went back to find Rivi. She was either just so terrified by the situation or frightened that I was going to hit her too for she had locked herself in her bathroom. I could hear her crying.

Betrayal

I got lucky. In that sense of the phrase, yes, and that I got lucky because I so quickly found another man who was willing to go along with my advances. I met Mr. Chaddie Marx like I've met other men. On a walk. He moved to Aurora Skies around the same time we did. Somehow, we hadn't come to know each other yet.

Mr. Marx was taking a walk like I was. We got tot talking before I tested my skills and invited him over to warm up. It didn't take him long to catch my meaning. Our time together was pretty satisfying. However, I could quickly tell that he was becoming very interested in me. By know I've learned that I cannot lead him on to believe anything serious can come of our relationship. I unfortunately didn't start off so well. I managed to let him convince me to allow him to stay the night.

Slowing Down

Even after all these years, I still have not managed to find a lot of appeal in watching television. I've come to understand what a remarkable invention it truly is. There's even a coupe movies I've come to enjoy. Still, I cannot bring myself, nor do I really want, to sit consistently in front of it for hours each day. Sitting down and devoting myself to absolutely nothing than mostly mindless entertainment makes me restless. I cannot not be productive for so long. Learning and gaining experience is a passion that has been instilled in me from birth.

However, it seems I have not managed to instill the same passion in Ettelendil, Erondir, and Thrin. They have become obsessed with watching the sports channels. They're healthy children, but I am worried that they'll form some bad habits if this keeps up. I suppose it doesn't help that this house came with a television in pretty much every bedroom. Right now I'm keeping an eye on my three sons so that things don't get too out of hand.

Noisy First Night

Us elves have always been fascinated with the night sky. I, in particular, have always loved it. I suppose this is one of the reasons Aurora Skies appealed to me so much. I had only ever heard of the brilliant colors of light that would appear, and I never thought I would get to see such spectacular marvels for myself. Up until recently, I considered myself the most knowledgeable about the stars in our household. Ettelendil is turning into quite the amazing astronomer though. He is using that telescope I bought to find new stars and other celestial bodies. He's even getting paid for doing so. It's absolutely remarkable!
