The Royal 7

Writing "The History of the Elves" opened my mind to other ways in which I could expand the world's canon cast of characters. A lot of my thoughts centered around the seven original elven kingdoms, their rulers, and their descendants. I revealed Ellothiel's noble heritage for the first time, and that inspired me to think of how the blood from the other five kingdoms had continued on. Realizing I had never gone in depth about the children of the other leaders of the elven land, save for giving Anoriand a brief mention in "Revelations", I thought it would would be a good idea to link the kingdoms of old with the current ruling forces of the elves. Thus, "The Royal 7" were born. I like to think the children of the leaders are little celebrities among their people, which is why their collective group has been dubbed with such a name by the other elves. The "Royal" naturally refers to how all are descended from the nobility, and the "7" alludes to both the number of children and the old kingdoms. The children are then divided within themselves based on their family and land of origin. Those are as follows:

The Northern Twins
Descended from the Tuoranir and Tuohir kingdoms

Morfiril
-The oldest out of the seven and the older twin to his sister Madith. Quite an oddity for an elf, Morfiril is wild, brash, and generally obnoxious. He refuses to live a traditional, proper lifestyle, but he holds so much natural charm and charisma that most tend to like him anyway. However, it is because of his rebellious ways that his parents had to be the only leaders to seek out the help of another family to be their advisers in order to keep the northern lands in check. This is how Morfiril came to know Erien. Ever since then he made frequent romantic passes at her despite Erien's constant denials and Taragond's severe dislike of him. Even now, Morfiril gets a kick out of flirting with both Erien and Ellothiel, especially when Eloril and Laril are around. This, and many unpleasant encounters when they were young, is the reason why Morfiril is perhaps the one person on the planet who can easily bring out Eloril's vicious rage. Though Morfiril does often try to charm women who have no interest in him, he actually doesn't have much interest in them either. He is merely having fun, has no current plans for marriage, and is more focused on keeping a watch on his twin.

Madith
-The younger twin, Madith can be considered a strong opposite of Morfiril. She is inherently calmer, more refined, and generally obedient. However, Morfiril's influence on her cannot be denied. His rebellious attitude has indeed crafted into her a stubborn and obstinate side as well. This usually comes out when she refuses to back down on what she feels is right, even if everyone else disagrees with her. Despite this, Madith is considered a peacemaker as she is one of the few who can keep Morfiril under control. She is usually the one to pull him away when he bothers the other maidens too much. Her interference in his romantic pursual is almost always reciprocated, as Morfiril often intimidates her potential courters away. Madith doesn't mind this since she won't accept any man who isn't brave enough to stand up to her brother. This is why she ended up having a good friendship with Eloril, which drives Morfiril nuts.

The Eastern Three
Descended from the Estelind and Melanno kingdoms

Eloril
-Considered perfect by many, Eloril is the one parents of elven children most often encourage their sons and daughters to be like. Well-mannered, good-natured, physically strong, intelligent, confident, humorous, gentle, and loving are a few of the good traits associated with him. Few take the time to see through their perceived notions to realize that Eloril is gullible, easily swayed, and hesitant when unsure. He also has a tendency to overreact when pushed, and he often ignores the faults of others that he needs to see because he doesn't want to admit that they are there. However, rarely does he raise his voice or display true anger. The only one who seems to be able to bring out that ferocious side of him is Morfiril. Due to his constant jests and jeers, his bullying of Ellothiel when they were children, the fights he would often start, and now the unabashed flirtations with his wife and sisters, Eloril has little patience with the son from the north.

Ellothiel
-The most famous of the 7 thanks to her completion of a Goddess given order. She is held in high regards due to her accepting, warm, and motherly demeanor. There are some who question her values thanks to incidents like her falling in love with a human, but since her return to the elven lands those concerns have all but fallen silent. Ellothiel now spends most of her days assisting her parents and brother with running the eastern lands as well as tending to her growing number of children. She also deals with Morfiril much more frequently than before due his desire to visit Erien and Laril, who he is actually good friends with, and to pester Eloril, but due to all her years of mothering she has grown the patience to deal with him respectably.

Abrien
-Abrien is the oddball out of the seven, partly because she is so much younger than the others and partly because of her extreme fascination with the humans. Her fascination is rightly blamed on the fact that she spent a good portion of her younger years living amongst the mortal race. Not growing up experiencing the same negative tales and attitudes about the humans from her people, Abrien is one of the first to be affected by the breaking of the elves' isolation. She wants nothing more than for total peace to exist between the two races again, which is why she spends half of her time in the human lands teaching and reconnecting everyone. When Abrien is doing her work she is responsible, mature, and determined. When she is at home relaxing she is silly, absent-minded, and childlike. Despite reaching courting age, Abrien appears to be completely oblivious to romantic matters. The lone time she ever bothers with the subject is when she jokingly goes along with Morfiril's sarcastic flirting with her because she thinks it's amusing to watch Eloril get riled up.

The Southern Moon
Descended from the Neonind and Bronwe kingdoms

Ithilen
-As far as relationships between the four different lands go, the north and east interact with each other far more with each other than they do with the south and the west. The opposite is also true. The south and west interact far more with each other than they do the north and the east. Ithilen, the daughter of the southern lands, is reserved but steadfast and is ultimately the person who connects the four. Her docile nature has her getting along with everyone, and her love of traveling is what has made her the main envoy for communication between the leaders. Slightly jealous of the children from the north and east having siblings, Ithilen fostered a sibling-like relationship with Anoriand. The two are often pushed to be together romantically because they are the "Moon" and the "Sun", but both are happier being more like brother and sister. The truth is that Ithilen harbors secret feelings for the one who is her complete opposite- Morfiril.

The Western Sun
Descended from the Faeldor kingdom

Anoriand
-Growing up under the watch of strict parents who kept him isolated from most others of the northern, eastern, and southern lands led to Anoriand inheriting a submissive and timid personality. He heard tales of the ever impressive Eloril and troublesome but charming Morfiril and felt inadequate. Those feelings only intensified when he met the others in person. Anoriand accepted for the longest time that he was to remain nothing more than a helper hidden in his parents' shadow. Then Ithilen started to come over on frequent visits, and Anoriand's world expanded thanks to her friendship. His confidence and boldness grew. Still, for many years he felt he had no true purpose. The day then came when Ellothiel returned home after completing her order and suggested the idea of taking groups of elves over the wall. Desiring to break down the invisible barrierss around him and helping people like him to do so, Anoriand not only convinced his parents to allow the trips to happen, but also was able to attend the first outing himself. He joined Abrien since that day in learning about the mortal race and then teaching the elves and the humans about each other. His constant contact with the second daughter of Elrundir sprung up feelings of longing for her, although Anoriand remains conflicted over whether he should think of Abrien in a romantic way considering she is so much younger than him.
