Gen One- Chapter Seven

The late summer sun beat down on us. We were all thankful the terrible humidity had departed the day before, and also that we had the ocean water to splash about in. I couldn't imagine how people could stand not living by a similar body of water. Eden had explained to me recently the idea of deserts. They sounded like a horrible place to live to me. I liked the sand on the beaches, but living in a place that was all sand and heat? Not for me, thank you very much.

I wasn't thinking of deserts at that moment. I had to concentrate on the large amount of water Frost was sending my way. We had been swimming earlier, but we had changed our playing to splashing in shallower water once our energy levels dropped a bit. I was making sure to pace myself this time around. My first birthday party was going to last all day if I had any say about it. And I did have a lot of say. A few weeks after Blaze and Amaranth came around for dinner, Eden admitted that he had been planning a party for me. However, he wasn't sure what I wanted. That was why we worked on it together. I had decided to have it at the beach, and we had gone from there. My suggestion to have it at the beach, I thought, was an inspired idea. The six of us were already having the time of our lives.

Gen One- Chapter Six

I was annoyed when Eden walked through the door. The pounding of my head had prevented me for sleeping for some time, and, just when I had finally been about to drift off, the noise of him coming in to check on me pulled me right back into the world of the conscious that I was trying so desperately to escape from. I groaned as he knelt down next to me. That was pretty much all I could manage.

"Well, that answers my question of whether you're awake or not." Eden said.
"No thanks to you." I thought in irritation.
"Would you mind facing this way for a moment? I need to take your temperature again and give you your next dose of medicine."
"Don't wanna." I mumbled, tightening my hold on my sheets.
     "Come on, Ethereal."
     "No."

Eden sighed, but I then frowned when I could sense his expression changing into a snarky grin even though I couldn't see his face.

"Alright. But you know, I do have to check your temperature somehow. If you won't turn to face me, I can always go get the rectal thermometer."

I did shift ever so slightly to give him the nastiest of glares. He was indeed grinning down at me with a mischievous expression.

"You're the worst." I mumbled again, reluctantly rolling over to my other side even though it made my stomach churn harshly.

Eden just laughed.

100 Majesties- A 100 BC Update #15

With Hunter and Sage giving Ella Lynette and Gwendolyn, that meant there was one Sage brother left for Ella to try getting a nice, green baby from. She took a walk about town, but eventually found that Malachite was simply chilling out in his house. Despite the fact that he was in a relationship, Malachite was incredibly receptive to Ella's advances.

However, the poor guy didn't realize there was a price for getting swayed by her. Ella's flirting expression soon shifted into a mischievous one. She pulled out a potion from nowhere to splash at Malachite's feet. He tried to jump away, but the elixir was already doing its work.

Gen One- Chapter Five

My fingers furiously tapped the buttons on my controller. I ignored everything around me besides what was going on on the screen. Sunflower constantly mumbling to herself, Sunset's fidgeting, and Sunset's mom's cries of frustration when she messed up never registered to my consciousness. Unlike most everything in the normal world, being good at video games had come naturally to me. I didn't have to read anything. I didn't have to worry about knowing stuff I was supposed to know. I was given an objective, and I followed it. That was all I required.

Gen One- Chapter Four

I smiled as I placed the last red triangle piece into place. Me not paying attention had caused me to mess up my build once already. This time I had gone for a simpler design that was difficult to knock over accidentally. I felt as if I shouldn't be having so much fun with a toy that was designed for children much younger than me, but I couldn't help but to thoroughly enjoy the almost obnoxiously bright colors of the blocks. Putting them together in all sorts of shapes was addicting. I could have sat there all day doing nothing but building.

"What do you think, Fluff? It's not as tall as the other one, but I think it looks better." I asked my bear.

Fluff had quickly become my trusted critic over the past three weeks. His silence spoke volumes.

"Yeah, I really like it too." I agreed with him.

And at that, I knocked my build over. Destroying what I had created was as fun as building. I bent over to pick up the blocks that had dropped to the floor, but I was interrupted by a call that rang throughout the house.

     "Meadow!"

It was Eden, of course. He was upset with me again like he always seemed to be lately.
